Kien Binh Minh Foundation: From “Haptic Eyes” to “Heart” – The journey bringing Tet to the High and remote places in Northwest region Vietnam
In 2014, on the journey to bring light to the visually impaired community, Kien Binh Minh Foundation used to stop in Lao Cai and this time back, we return and carry a different mission.
After more than 3 months have passed since the historic storm Yagi passed through and caused much loss and pain to the people of the northern provinces, of which Lao Cai was the most severely affected. The destination of the Kien Vuong company delegation this time was A Lu commune, an area that suffered the most damage in Lao Cai province. During the recent storm, the terrible landslide on September 9, 2024 in Phin Chai 2 village left 7 people dead and buried many houses. This time, the Kien Vuong company delegation was connected and accompanied in the program "Spring Border Guard Warms the Hearts of the Villagers" organized by the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command.
A Lu is a highland commune in the northern mountainous region, with harsh natural conditions. The commune is considered one of the poorest localities in the district with the number of poor and near-poor households accounting for over 80%. The intellectual level of the people is still limited, so the problem of increasing income and improving people's lives is always a big challenge for the local government. The whole commune has 940 households, with 3 ethnic groups: Mong, Dao, Ha Nhi living together. The terrain is fragmented, with little arable land, and people's income mainly depends on growing corn and rice once a year.
Together with the local government, Kien Vuong Company has brought practical donations to help poor households affected by natural disasters and hopes to help them have a prosperous and fulfilling Tet holiday. In addition, Kien Vuong Company also supports poor students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
The delegation of Kien Vuong company has donated 516 gifts including rice, seasoning powder, warm clothes, dried fish, and plastic containers of clean water to the households and awarded 30 gifts to good students who overcame difficulties in A Lu commune.
Another successful journey has come to an end, but it has opened a new voyage in 2025, extending the paths that bring Kien Vuong closer to the community. More than the "social responsibility" of a business, it is the empathy, sharing and spirit of mutual love that have become the "red thread" throughout the journey since the establishment of Kien Binh Minh Foundation. Not only when natural disasters and calamities occur, but we understand that somewhere on this S-shaped strip of land, every day there are still ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances, not having enough food and clothes; there are still children with bare feet covered in mud but constantly trying on the path to find knowledge; somewhere there are still rickety, makeshift schools, lacking in every way; there are still teachers who silently stick to school day and night, dedicating their youth to their homeland for a brighter future for the less fortunate children in remote border areas, the homeland's frontier... and much more.
